Learning at St. Alloyce School 📚

Quality CBC education from Playgroup to Grade 3
Building strong foundations for bright futures

Quality Learning for Every Child 🌟

Following Kenya's national curriculum from early years to junior secondary

At St. Alloyce School, we welcome children from age 3 onwards, starting with our Playgroup and Pre-Primary classes (PP1 & PP2). We follow Kenya's Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) for all grades from 1 to 9. This modern curriculum focuses not just on what children know, but on what they can do - developing practical skills alongside academic knowledge.

We may be a small school with limited resources, but we're committed to providing the same quality education that children receive in larger, better-funded schools. Our teachers work hard to make learning engaging, practical, and relevant to our students' lives in rural Kenya.

How We Teach 👨‍🏫

Making learning work with what we have

Hands-On Learning

We believe children learn best by doing. Our teachers use practical examples from daily life in Kandiege - farming, fishing, local markets - to make lessons real and meaningful.

Small Group Work

Students work together in groups, learning from each other. This builds teamwork skills and helps struggling students learn from their peers.

Mother Tongue Support

While we teach in English and Kiswahili, we use Dholuo (local language) to help younger children understand difficult concepts - especially important in rural areas.

Continuous Assessment

Teachers regularly check each child's progress through tests, assignments, and class participation - not just end-term exams.

Nature as Classroom

We use our surroundings to teach science - observing plants and animals, learning about weather, understanding our ecosystem. Nature is our laboratory.

Character Building

Beyond academics, we teach respect, honesty, hard work, and responsibility. Good character is as important as good grades.
